The Wings of the Overcomer

Have you ever seen a bird? Or a child fly a kite?

Do they fly through the bird or the kite’s own power? Or are they carried by the wind?

I want to encourage you today to put your wings out and let the Lord’s gentle wind carry you to new places.

It is a place of trust, and a place of receiving where the bird remains. It opens its wings to receive the wind. If you are not in a place to receive, you will not be carried by the wind. Do you understand this?

Many are afraid of receiving. Many think they are not worthy of the Lord’s gifts. But He would carry them higher than they ever thought possible if only they would spread their wings. All He needs is our willingness to be open. Just to put our arms out.

You are overcome by your obstacles when you do not realize you were made for flight. Rising above your obstacles means looking up to Jesus, the first overcomer. Because He overcame the world, so can you.

I have told you these things, so that in Me you may have [perfect] peace. In the world you have tribulation and distress and suffering, but be courageous [be confident, be undaunted, be filled with joy]; I have overcome the world.” [My conquest is accomplished, My victory abiding.

John 16:33 AMP

He does not ask that you overcome the world again, but simply trust in Him, and take His faith upon yourself.

This is the confidence that He has already overcome your obstacle and it will allow you to rise above it. It will release the power necessary to propel you up and over it.

If you believe your roadblock is insurmountable, then you are giving creative power to something that should not have it. Instead give your focus to the one who overcame, and you will fly higher than you ever thought possible. Your hindrances will lose power when you stop giving them power over you.

These are the wings of the overcomer. One who puts on the faith of the Son of God, who firmly trusts in what He has accomplished. Nothing more, nothing less. There is nothing left for you to do, but to receive that Jesus has done it all for you already, and to walk out the victory that has already been secured for you.

For everyone who has been born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world— our faith.

Be encouraged in this truth today, that no matter how large the giant seems that is looming in front of you, it has already been defeated.

Put out your wings and let the winds of his presence carry you high above anything standing in your way!

Lord Jesus, I thank you for your victory. I thank you that you have already overcome the world, and because of this I am now able to be an overcomer also. I receive your victory as my victory, and I thank you for breakthrough over all obstacles that may be in my way. Amen.
