Embraced by the King of Glory

Light dawns in the darkness for the upright; he is gracious, merciful, and righteous.

Psalm 112:4

Lift up your heads, O gates! And be lifted up, O ancient doors, that the King of glory may come in.

Behold. A new day has come.

The King beckons you into His chambers. It is in this place you see the one seated on the throne. Full of splendor and majesty. Full of grace and mercy. Justice and righteousness. Joy and Peace. Love and kindness. All of this emanates from the very essence of His being. Rays of iridescent glory emerge from his face, billow out, wash and encircle you. All you feel is love. All you know is Him. His piercing eyes penetrate to you the core of your being. All splinters of darkness and shadows of false reality are dissolved at one glance of his flaming sapphire eyes.

Here in this place, you feel for the first time what it means to be the object of His full attention. The Creator of the universe is looking at YOU. And only you. You are the only thing that matters to Him in this moment. Here, eternity is captured. Nothing else is of importance but you and Him. He sees you fully for who you are. All your past, all your mistakes, all your imperfect plans and things that didn’t go right. Times you tried to do the right thing, but it didn’t feel like enough. In this place all of that vanishes.

You are the epitome of perfection in his eyes. Because He desires you. It is His heart that has drawn you here. You did not bring yourself here. It is He alone that wanted you to Himself. Try as you might to separate yourself from Him with your own false humility and feelings of unworthiness, it is not enough to keep you from the ever-living, unrelenting fire of His passionate love for you.

As you sit in this place, and are completely consumed by His glorious loving gaze, you realize you have reached the pinnacle of existence. In this place you never want to leave- nor do you have to. You have encountered the purpose for living and the very meaning of life. You have encountered Existence itself. For He is the way the truth and the LIFE.

Did you think you could keep yourself from His love? Here all barriers to his affection are removed. And in this place, he will no longer let you hate yourself. For he desires that even your attitude towards yourself must be aligned and match his own passionate embrace.

Only honor can stand in this place. If the King of All Realms honors you, you no longer are allowed to dishonor yourself. For this would bring dishonor to the one who fashioned you with his very own hand.

You must honor what He honors. And love what He loves. And embrace what He embraces. The Lord’s passionate heart beats and you can feel wave after wave of emotion hit you. As you feel His heart connected to yours, it begins to invigorate you, lighting up each cell in your body with the knowledge that you truly are the object of His desire. You are worthy of His love. You are and always will be worth dying for. He would do it all over again in an instant if it was only you on the earth. Without hesitation. If only you knew the joy He felt when he died on the cross for you, so that he would gain the chance to spend this time with you. If only you knew but a fraction of how great and deep His passion was for you, you would change forever. Nothing would ever be the same.

As these truths wash over you again and again, like waves on the seashore, you decide to yourself that this will be your new lifestyle. Not one that seeks to please an impossibly difficult master. But a life lived in the knowledge that you were accepted long before you ever tried to do anything for Him.

Allow yourself to stay in this place and come here as often as you like. Let his be your daily sustenance and let it be a transformation of refreshment. It would bring Him more joy than you could ever know for you to receive his unending adoration for you.

Lord Jesus, I thank you for your eternal love for me. I release all the things I’ve been carrying all these years. All the burdens and worries and things I’ve been trying to handle on my own. I let go of my self-hatred, and efforts to make myself worthy in your eyes. I give it all to you. I entrust myself and my heart to your care. I open myself to receive your love for me. Let it transform me from the inside and help me to always be aware of your eternal affection toward me. I love you. Amen
