Hearing God’s Voice

Have you ever wondered what it would be like to have no fear? To not have a care in this world?

How do some people trust in God with ease, but others seem frequently lost and anxious?

I believe the key is rooted in fear. I used to be afraid I wouldn’t hear from God, or that he didn’t want to talk to me or give me personal direction.

I blamed it on the fact that others were more spiritually developed than me, or somehow better than me in some way for God to talk to them, but not me.

For years I believed this and struggled with stress and anxiety and anger towards God for not speaking to me.

What changed? I read two books, Hearing God’s Voice Made Simple and Dream Interpretation Made Simple by Praying Medic. I had never before seen such an easily understood pathway to tuning into God’s voice that I never knew was already present in my life.

I would recommend everyone read these books- you will not be the same! When you come into an awareness that God really is talking to you every day, whether through your dreams or through other means in your day to day life, you will begin to realize how intricately involved he is in your life. You will realize how he is (and has been) informing you about things to come. You will realize how much he CARES about your life. How he meets needs and answers questions from your heart even before you formally pray about it.

As an example, I’ve been trying out a new gardening technique recently in order to boost plant growth in my garden. For the past few days, I’ve been feeling like I’ve been doing something incorrectly but I couldn’t quite put my finger on it. At least I had an idea, but I wasn’t sure. And just last night I had a dream where I was shown the right way to do it, which was a wonderful confirmation for me. But it was something I hadn’t even asked for! He knows the desires of our hearts!

Realizing this will allow you to enter a new level of rest and trust in Him. Knowing that he’s got you, he’s your shepherd and it’s his job to look out for you. Didn’t he say to take no thought for your life? And that he is our strong tower? And our rear guard? Our provider? What if these verses are actually true? Can you imagine the peace that would overcome you? The joy? Perhaps being like a child again?

Oh the adventures of love that await you… all you have to do is open the door!

    This is what I struggle with… That incredible feeling of love and worth that God shows others like they are his favorite child… I struggle in feeling/seeing that… Is it just my perception that needs to change? Not sure why I struggle with this! Besides my sad tale of woe.. I wanted to say I really enjoy your writings and how you express your relationship with the Father!! Amazing….

      Hi Kristin! Thanks for stopping by, I’m glad you’ve enjoyed my writings!

      I can relate SO much to this struggle. I was there for many years. I do think you’re on the right track that it has to do a lot with perception. And understanding that while God may speak to one person in one way, he may speak to you in a completely different way. And what you have with God doesn’t have to look like what someone else has, but realizing his love for you (and desire to speak to you) is just the same as anyone else.

      I think a big key is to first believe/accept he is already speaking to you and try to be more aware of your surroundings. When I started to do this, I found that he was speaking to me even through things like songs on the radio, road signs, clock numbers, things my kids say, you name it!

      For me I found that when I wasn’t listening/aware I missed all these signals. I would bet he’s speaking to you way more than you probably realize.

      I would encourage you to start a spiritual journal if you don’t already, and start jotting notes down when you feel like it could be God. As you steward and treasure the small things, I believe he will honor that and open it up more for you.

      I feel the Father’s love for you so strongly! I see an image of a beautiful spring flower garden with butterflies, and I believe this is how he sees you, a beckoning for you to come and receive what he has for you.

    Thank you so much!! I do see him in those little things and I do (kinda) keep a journal.. trying to dive a little deeper into my self to see why I see God so strict instead of so loving… I really appreciate your words and encouragement!!!!
