Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things.
Philippians 4:8 (ESV)
How we communicate within ourselves, with our own thoughts, is a tremendously powerful thing. When thoughts are released internally, a torrent of electrochemical energy flows which tunes and reshapes our brains into whatever patterns are repeatedly and consistently dwelt upon. If we are constantly living in worry, doubt and fear, our neurological trees will appear to be a dark wasteland. On the flipside if we are filled with thoughts of life, it will be a lush forest brimming with life.
For too long we have assumed our thoughts and words mean nothing. That what we say doesn’t matter. If we only knew how powerful they were, we would have more respect and honor for that which proceeds from our mouth. Wouldn’t the creator design his children to have words that have power too?
Be aware of your words today. Are they creating life? Are they imparting grace unto the hearer (especially if the hearer is only yourself)? Are you building yourself up? Or are you tearing yourself down? If you knew your words would come to pass, how would that change your conversation? Your thoughts? Your imagination? What if your life circumstances are a byproduct of these things? Would it be worth it to change our habits to be more life-giving?
Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it will eat its fruits.
Proverbs 18:21 (ESV)
Be encouraged that your breakthrough is so near…in fact it is housed in the very words you speak. Envision your future and destiny, picture the man or woman you know God created you to be. And speak it forth into existence as our Heavenly Father does.
Make this day a day of declaration. Proclaim that you are a mighty child of God. Filled with love and power, and equipped with everything you need to accomplish your mission here on this earth. You are filled with more love than you can fathom and are supplied to be a life and love giving spirit to everyone around you. Take heart that you can do this, and it begins with your words. Make them count. For good this time.
Father, I thank you for the power of my thoughts and words. Please forgive me for not using them to the best of my ability to release life and impart grace. Please fill me with your presence and wisdom to speak words of life unto myself and to those I encounter. Thank you for teaching me what it means to create life with my words and be a man or woman of my word, as you are a God who honors his word. I thank you, and I love you. Amen.
Amen 🙏
